TNSSA Spring Luncheon Recap: A Day of Networking, Legal Updates, Education, and Giving Back

The Tennessee Self Storage Association (TNSSA) held its Spring Luncheon on May 20, 2025, at the Crowne Plaza Knoxville, and it was a day packed with valuable information, networking opportunities, and a focus on giving back to the community.

The day kicked off with a welcome from TNSSA President Clay Powers. Clay introduced the 2025 Board of Directors and encouraged attendees to connect with them throughout the event.

Anne Blackwell, the Charity Committee Chair, then shared exciting news about this year's fundraising initiative. TNSSA is supporting Homes For Our Troops, specifically Army Specialist Will Thomas and his family, as they build a specially adapted home in Murfreesboro. The goal for 2025 is to raise $15,000, with TNSSA pledging a $5,000 match. There are multiple ways to contribute, including adding a donation to membership dues, rounding up event registrations, or using a QR code for direct giving.

Legislative updates were provided by Bev and Nathan, announcing the passage of new legislation. A FREE Legal Updates Webinar with Scott Zucker & Joe Doherty is scheduled for June 12th to discuss the new legislation in detail.

Association announcements followed, with Melissa highlighting the TNSSA Manager of the Year Award presentation to Herb Chelton. 

Following lunch, Grace Totty, Vice President of Marketing and Sales with Absolute Storage Management, presented on "Navigating Price Sensitivity Without Compromising Value." Grace shared her extensive marketing experience providing valuable insights to the attendees.
